You talk to people when you’re combing the Comtal for its best curries or hustling up restaurants for Eat Street Hot & Spicy. When several of those people independently recommend the same South Indian spot, you move your cute little culo up to Les Corts. Chennai Masala Dosa has been around for over a year (what have we been doing all this time?!) and is a family-run jewel. Amritha showed us in and out, talking up her mother, the all-powerful commander in the kitchen and keeper of the family recipes. Dad shoulder-shimmied across the dining-room, thalis in hand, assisted by a team of waiters. And there’s a brother in there somewhere. They specialize in dosas, dude, and do daily thalis as well (veggie, chicken, fish, etc.) The veggie curry didn’t stand up to the fish or prawn (ace!), but everything gets a super authentic, plentiful and muy-tasty rating. Good spice levels, by the way. Les Corts, so hot right now.
