Researching last month’s Shortlist we asked Anas, “Where’s the best Pakistani restaurant in the city?” “Restaurante Cordova,” he said. “Where’s that?” we asked. “Badalona,” he said. Shit. And while, yes, it’s technically a different city, ya toca some roaming further afield. So, purple line to Sant Roc (or T5 tram), turn right just before the petanca cage, go under the freeway past the projects on your right, turn left at the three white crosses and head down Carrer Còrdova to a real treat. Get swaddled in the parquet-esque pine walls. Don’t worry about chatting up the waiters too much, they’ll get overwhelmed initially with cas i cat. This is not a place generally frequented by you Mediterranean types. Poc a poc, they’ll warm up later. Get a pitcher of mango lassi for 6€ and share it out. ¡Ofertón! Get the lamb krahi (9€) and the chicken curry (6,50€). Very good. Fresh, fluffy discs of naan for 0,70€. The house specialty: a sizzling plate of pollo tandoori a la brasa (8€). You will not regret the trip.
