La Resistència is the latest in Barcelona’s beer bar revolution (if only social revolution moved so quickly!). The place is set back from Viladomat, dug out a bit and soundproofed, because the bar before ran what must have been wild karaoke sessions. Now it’s a cerveseria, pure and simple. The walls are orange, yellow and green, but walls are of little importance. This is about la birra, and with 12 taps at the front it’s apparent a draft beer philosophy runs the show. With the exception of the Brew Dog’s Punk IPA and the local Catalan l’Espiga, you’re not going to find a barrel that repeats. That means excitement every time you go, on a 10-barrel rotation. They have local munchies (99% producte català) in the form of embotits, formatges and cocas de recapte and the best news of all: they’re going to start serving a hot dish plus pint for 8€ in the new year. Visca la resistència!
